Please read if you are an artist thinking about exhibiting your work at Kultureshock!

Please note!!
If you are not intending to pay and come to the 30th Street Rod Nationals show, then you will not be able to drop your art off there with me and you will have to send your work to me in advance at my home in order to be able to exhibit. Nobody will be able to pass the gates of the show without paying the usual fee. I will also have to charge the 5% levy on any sales, even if you are a NASC member, to cover the extra costs of transporting your work . However, if there is some kind of problem after you have paid, and you are unable to come to the show, just call me on 01202 777249 and I will accept your work at home without charging the levy on sales.

Art Exhibition Information for Artists

The new showground for the 30th Nats is the Suffolk Showground, which has many permanent buildings. We wanted to do something a little different for the 30th and I thought that an art exhibition to show off the serious art behind the art that we produce in cars and in our general lifestyle would raise the profile of the hobby in general.

I am therefore asking for anyone who works in an artistic vein or produces art for pleasure within the hobby of customising and hotrodding or within any related lifestyle theme, to submit art related to our hobby and lifestyle for this exhibition. (anything from jewellery to tattoos, pinstriping to airbrushing, clothing design to concept - or kustom! - car design, sculpture from car parts, furniture, 50's style installations, hair designs, photography, car interiors,

The idea is that much of the art will be for sale to the exhibition visitors (there will be a display area for work not for sale as well) and as the idea is to promote the art rather than to make a profit, we are offering the space for free to NASC members and traders. Any non members and non traders will also be able to exhibit their art for free but any sales will have a 5% fee added on top to help us cover our costs. This fee will be paid by the purchaser and will be included in the displayed price.

The exhibition will be in build on Friday 27th August. I will need all of the art to be with me at home beforehand:

please arrange for delivery to:

OR

you may deliver it in person between 9am and 12 noon at the designated place at the Suffolk Showground on Friday 27th August. If there is a problem and you simply HAVE TO deliver it on Saturday 28th, I will have to be informed in advance and I will need it by 10am on that day.

What I will need to know for now is (contact me immediately):

* Are you interested in participating?
* Are you a NASC member?
* Are you a trader at the 30th NATS?
* What do you intend to display?
* Is it for sale or just for display?
* The pricing will be asked for later, along with an official entry form.
* How much space do you think you will need? (approximate is fine at this stage)
* Will you be needing wall or floor space or both?
* I am more than happy to display business cards and promotional leaflets at the exhibition so please have a think about that as well.
* Do you have an idea for an exhibit but you need help with putting it together?
* Will you be needing any props? (stands/frames/tables/hooks/wires etc)
* Would you like to advertise your art and/or website on this site? If so, please send me a link and images.

It's in the planning stages at the moment but it will take place and will be open for participants between the cruises on Saturday 28th Aug and to public and everyone on Sunday 29th Aug from 10am to 4pm.

All of the art should be collected by 5pm by the purchasers or the artists on Sunday 28th August, unless you make prior arrangements with me to return the work to you or to deliver it to the new owner via courier. Of course, if this clashes with prizegiving or anything like that, I can be flexible.

My email for the initial discussions and plans isnasceditor@ntlworld.com

my home telephone number is01202 777249

my mobile telephone number is 07833 912927 and I will have that on me throughout the show.

For now, just get in touch and let me know a rough outline of your plan to exhibit and once I have several artists on my list with a rough plan, I will draw up a sketch of the exhibition and send out official booking forms :-)

Please note: no art will be accepted for the exhibition unless the registration form has been completed and returned, the art must be given a price and you must provide a contact telephone number for the duration of the show. Promotional material from artists will be displayed with pleasure but it must be non-intrusive to the overall look of the exhibition and the exhibition organiser will have the final decision on what may or may not be displayed. For purchases, we are able to accept cash on behalf of the exhibitors but no cheques or credit cards. You may, however, be able to arrange such a payment directly with the relevant artist. If an artist has achieved a successful sales record at the exhibition, a small donation to the N.A.S.C. towards the running costs would be greatly appreciated but it is not essential.

The registration form is complete and is now available for download. download the registration document for Kultureshock as a Word document CLICK HERE!
